Reading the book, Don reminded me of Saga Noren from The Bridge. I found its exploration of living with Asperger's (though Don Tillman remains blissfully unaware he is on the spectrum) to be insightful and informative without getting too heavy or overburdened by the amount of research that must have gone into its writing, and Simsion treats his characters with sympathy and affection. ”Ī sweet, charming, funny, sometimes sad and ultimately moving romantic comedy that makes a perfect quick, undemanding read, a sort of palate freshener if you are looking for a break from more serious fare. The relationship between Gene and Claudia was an uncomfortable element in the book at times which through the characters development added to its triumphant positivism. “A wonderful read that was amusing, touching and even sad at times. This was a very visual book and I look forward to the film!” The father project felt like a side storyline.

I enjoyed how difference was celebrated throughout the book. “I read all 3 books and really enjoyed them Don was a brilliant and funny character. I will try to read the follow ups and I am anticipating the film with pleasure.” “A great book that was very funny in places, a “laugh out loud” saga that was lovely to read and very uplifting.
